With so many hungry puppies, it is important for Vesta to eat a lot of protein.

Martin, our wonderful local butcher, was somewhat taken aback by my request on Tuesday for 3 of his lovely large free-range chickens!

Having provisioned enough chicken for a few days (I hope!), Vesta is able to enjoy a generous portion with every meal and is thriving on it.  She has a dedicated shelf in the freezer for all the jointed portions, several of which are defrosted overnight and freshly steamed every morning.
